Early Fire Protection System Design Using IoT Based ESP8266
Abstract
This research discusses the design and development of a Prototype fire detection and suppression system based on the Internet of Things (IoT). The system utilizes an MQ-2 sensor to detect the presence of smoke or flammable gases and a flame sensor to identify fire sources. The ESP8266 microcontroller serves as the main controller that processes sensor data and sends real-time notifications to users via the Blynk application. In addition to early fire detection, the system is also equipped with a blower fan to remove smoke from the area and a DC water pump that automatically sprays water when fire is detected. The LCD I2C module displays system status information, while the buzzer functions as an audible fire alarm. The test results show that all components work properly and are well-integrated. The system can detect the presence of smoke and fire quickly, providing warnings through the buzzer, LCD display, and Blynk notifications with a response time of less than 10 seconds. Therefore, this Prototype offers an efficient, low-cost, and practical solution for early fire detection and suppression, suitable for residential environments and small-scale indoor applications.
