Abstract

Home and building security is an essential aspect of modern life. Traditional security systems that rely on mechanical keys have several weaknesses, such as the risk of loss, duplication, and theft. This research aims to design and develop an automatic door security system using face recognition with an ESP32-CAM. The system recognizes registered users’ faces stored in a database and automatically activates a solenoid door lock to open the door. Tests were carried out to evaluate the accuracy and speed of the system in recognizing faces. The results show that the system can detect faces with high accuracy at an optimal distance, while providing fast response in unlocking the door. Therefore, this system offers a safer and more efficient solution compared to conventional key-based systems.
