Abstract

In the polyethylene (PE) plastic production process with a two-plate mold, a runner (unused plastic part) is produced which needs to be recycled. Currently, the transfer of polyethylene runners to the granulator machine to be shredded and recycled is done manually, which carries the risk of causing fatigue and injury to operators. So it is necessary to install a material handling autoloader conveyor to move polyethylene runners automatically with specifications, namely dimensions of runner storage tank 1150 x 987 x 924 mm3, conveyor dimensions: 1150 x 2021 x 2254 mm3, conveyor slope 45°, type of conveyor belt is a plastic flat belt with belt length 2.5 meters, diameter 164 mm. Drive source: AC motor 1.5 HP, 1.1 kW, 4 pole , 1390 rpm dengan MCB: 6 Ampere. For automation parts, we use a proximity sensor which functions as a tool to detect changes in distance to an object without any physical contact. The use of AC 2 Wire PR 12-4AC autonics proximity sensors to identify the position of the hoper in an empty position or full of material. Installing a material handling autoloader conveyor is one solution to overcome the problem of manually moving polyethyene runners, thereby increasing the optimality of the recycling process, safety and health of workers in factories.
