Pengaruh Variasi Bukaan Discharge Valve Terhadap Kinerja Low Pressure Condensate Pump Pada Boiler Feed Water System
Abstract
A centrifugal pump is equipment used to transfer fluids from one point to another. This study aims to determine the effect of discharge valve opening adjustment on the performance of a centrifugal pump in terms of total head, hydraulic power, and efficiency. The research was conducted using a Low Pressure Condensate Pump in the Boiler Feed Water System. The method applied in this study includes literature review, data collection, testing and data acquisition, followed by analysis and discussion. The data collected in this research include suction pressure, discharge pressure, water flow rate, and discharge valve opening position. The results show that an increase in the discharge valve opening leads to an increase in total head, hydraulic power, and efficiency. Therefore, it can be concluded that the performance of the low pressure condensate pump is significantly influenced by changes in the discharge valve opening. Operating the centrifugal pump at the highest discharge valve opening (100%) is recommended as the optimal operating point to achieve the highest efficiency, and this finding can serve as a guideline for operating the Low Pressure Condensate Pump efficiently.
