Pengaruh Campuran Abu Terbang (Fly Ash) Terhadap Kuat Tekan dan Daya Serap Air Pada Batu Bata Merah
Abstract
Composition of the addition of fly ash which produces maximum compressive strength and absorption. This study used a cube-shaped test sample with a size of 5 cm x 5 cm x 5 cm with a composition of fly ash that varied, namely, 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%. The manufacture of red bricks with a mixture of water clay and fly ash, in the drying process is carried out for 1-3 days then burning in a furnace for ± 8 hours, then the bricks are ready to be tested for compressive strength and strength. absorb water. The addition of fly ash as a mixture of bricks has an effect on the compressive strength of the bricks. The addition of fly ash aggregate can increase the compressive strength of bricks with th e compressive strength of sample 1 (without fly ash composition) which is 4.64 kg/cm², sample 2 is 6.96 kg/cm², sample 3 is 7, 2 kg/cm², sample 4 is 7.76 kg/cm², and sample 5 is 7.04 kg/cm², from the five samples it can be concluded that the maximum compressive strength occurs at a percentage of 15% with a compressive strength of 7.04 kg/cm² and the increase was 67.24%. The addition of fly ash can affect the water absorption of bricks with the water absorption value of sample 1 (without fly ash composition) which is 17,08%, sample 2 is 16,28%, sample 3 is 15,88%, sample 4 is 14,3%, and sample 5 is 15,98%. These five samples met the requirements according to SNI 15-2094-2000.
